Volunteer

Ayan Pal has been an active volunteer with Toastmasters International and IBM’s CSR initiatives for over 15 years. He was honored as a ‘Kolkata Hero’ in 2019 and received several IBM awards, including the Volunteer Platinum Award Badge in 2022 for 4000+ hours of service. In 2024, Ayan was appointed as the first Head of the Centre of Advanced Studies at IBM India, where he will foster collaborations with universities and research organizations.

Food for the Soul

Ayan has been volunteering as a Member of Toastmasters International and as a part of IBM’s Corporate Social Responsibilities for 15+ years.

In 2019 Ayan was one of 10 individuals from Kolkata to be conferred with the title of ‘Kolkata Hero’ by Jiyo Bangla for demonstrating a commitment to serve and for inspiring communities to strive towards excellence.

Ayan was awarded with the IBM Volunteer Influencer Recognition Award in 2020 and IBM Volunteer COVID Heroes Recognition Award in 2021 for outstanding volunteering efforts and contribution to local communities through volunteering.

In 2022 Ayan became only the 105th individual in IBM history to be awarded the highest digital badge for Volunteering: IBM Volunteer Platinum Award Badge, for clocking 4000+ Hours of volunteering.

In July, 2024 he was appointed as the first ever Head for Centre of Advanced Studies, IBM India. This additional responsibility will enable him to co-create opportunities for high-touch collaborations with Universities and Research organizations to work with faculty and students on a regular basis on agreed upon project initiatives.

He will also be responsible for strategizing on flexible plans to orient closely with the university programs like Senior Design Projects and Capstone Projects that align with the goals and objectives of the university as well as IBM initiatives.
